Description
In one line
Run a tiny capsule-toy shop at night: tap pull on the claw machines, crack the capsule, and fill your shelves with cats.
In a paragraph
Pawpon is a cozy first-person game about working the night shift at a little capsule shop on Lantern Row. You drop in a token and watch your own hands work the joystick as the claw carries a capsule to the chute. Inside is one of 36 collectible cats, from Cupcake Cat to things that only come out at 3 a.m. Between pulls you keep the shop running, clearing jams and wiping the glass, and slowly piece together the story of M., the keeper who left in the middle of a sentence. Every machine shows its real odds before you spend a thing, and every pull is paid with tokens you earn.
Key features
- A pull that plays out in your hands. Token, joystick, grab, drop: every step happens in first person, with haptics, sound and a capsule that really falls. The published odds pick the cat.
- 42 cats in 7 sets, each with a line of its own and a shelf in your bedroom to put them on.
- Honest odds. A live odds sheet on every cabinet, a four-step pity ladder with published numbers, and a published odds page.
- Money never buys a pull. Every pull costs tokens, which are only earned; the store sells items with stated contents, such as Star Gems, Moon Dust, Whisper Coins and the Nightlight Pass.
- A story told in notes. No cutscenes: just postcards, margin writing and manuals left behind by the previous keeper.
- Made from code. Everything you see and hear inside the game, from the cabinets to the cats' whiskers and every whirr of the claw, is generated by code written for Pawpon.
About the developer
Ludilume is the one-person studio of Talha Abid, an independent developer in Pakistan who designs, programs and builds Pawpon alone. The game started from a simple question: what if the best part of a capsule machine, the claw closing on a capsule and the second before it opens, was the whole game, and the machine told you the truth about your chances?
